PokerStars held its first ever UK event and Joeri Zandvliet won first place in the tournament in Manchester. Aside from the money Zandvliet took home, the 21 year old poker player also will be able to play in the season finale European Poker Tour in London.

Joeri Zandvliet is from Netherlands. Specifically, Zandvliet is a native of Utrecht. At his young age, he already achieved his first big live tournament win. Standing third in chips in the final table with nine more players in the game, Zandvliet was declared the winner after 8 hours of play.

In the 8 hours of final play, it only took 7 minutes for Zandvliet to experience victory over Jack Ellwood. Zandvliet felt happy at the same time lucky for the victory he obtained. He also commented on the structure and program of the tournament. It was well organized according to him.

UKIPT (UK and Ireland Poker Tour) host Nick Wealthall was greatly overwhelmed with the result of the first tournament event in Manchester. It was shocking to know that it was the first tournament event in the area however; there were enormous players who played. Aside from the increase number of players, the tournament also had a high standard final table game. The host also had the chance to discover potential players who will create a big name in the game of poker in the near future.

Former United legend Teddy Sheringham was one of the players who played in the competition in Manchester; together with him was Vicky Coren a Team PokerStars pro.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Barry Greenstein are two giants that set new TV Cash-game poker record. Poker has been increasing its popularity on television. Popularity has drastically increased due to the ridiculous pots generated by high-stakes aces. The two giants made a new record for playing with the largest pot played.

Phil Ivey was a two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and who had made to the WSOP Main event final table. During the Full Tilt Poker’s Million Dollar Cash Games that was televised on SKYTV, Tom Dwan tackles with Ivey. Both players set new record at $1,108,500 while both having straight cards.

Tom Dwan holds a 7 of hearts and 6 of hearts and drops a bet worth $50,000 against Ivey who holds a combination of A clubs and 2 diamonds. The flop came with Jack of clubs, 3 of diamonds, and 5 of clubs. The 4 of hearts was the card on the turn and Ivey dropped a bet of $90,000 and Dwan took his time thinking before raising the auction to $ 232,600. The river was completed when the Jack of hearts came out.

Ivey was completely blank when he saw the seven digit pot money was all in. He had nothing to do but sit as he watched the Dwan took the money.

Poker legend, Doyle Brunson who won ten World Series of Poker bracelets will be blow out from the Star-studded PartyPoker Premier League Iv for having been fall-out from Dental surgery.

According to Brunson blogs, he made a bet worth $100,000 on the outcome of New Orleans with a face off to Indianapolis Colts in the Super Bowl XLIV as the football biggest game of the year.

Doyle Brunson will undergo a five hours and a half of dental procedure on his teeth and gums that could affect his involvement in the high-stakes PartyPoker Premier League IV where he was announced as a participant. His appearance in the said tournament which will be held at the M Casino in Ls Vegas will be a great exposure for the Doyles Room. Unfortunately, he needs to cancel his slot for he knows that he cannot have the full recovery after his dental surgery in time for the game.

The World Poker Tour annual in L.A. Poker Classic is one of the favourite games of Brunson, but again he needs to blow out all these events for it is useless to play without having the perfect condition. In addition, he cannot also play in the PokerStars North American Poker Tour and the National Heads-Up Poker Championship.

Las Vegas Hands is planning to bring the gaming action in Florida according to the Miami Herald. The giant casino is planning to build a $3 billion resort casino in Miami.

Sheldon Adelson, Las Vegas Sands CEO has been very busy for the past few days and for being hired as a Tallahassee lobbyist. He has made a lot of important contributions in Florida in regard to the pro-casino political campaigns.

Recent reports confirmed that Ft. Lauderdale legislator Ellyn Bogdanoff left with the plan of the expansion despite his early disagreement on the expansion of the State. He seems to side to the other side now.

The poker gaming industry has been looking for different markets to help them survive the stress they are undergoing for the meantime. Stress was brought about by the major investments that gaming industry has provided in places like Las Vegas and Macau.

In recent times, Miami has been attracting more and more companies to invest in their state. Miami is becoming on the target market of other big companies who wanted to invest in a different state. Big companies are targeting Miami in order for them to increase their stock values due to Miami’s economy at this point.

Doyle Brunson was known to be a Twitter Aficionado. He has been twitting to feed updates about the happenings in the DoylesRoom. Through his Tweeter feed, he can update the poker industry with his prop and sports betting and providing everyone a seemingly endless stream of blonde jokes.

Brunson, ten-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner made a comment to President Barrack Obama made from his twitter account. In response, he received a barrage of Tweets in response to his post that say “The Democrats say ‘give Obama time.’ Us Republicans [sic] agree, 25 to life seems appropriate!”

Some persons commented on Brunson’s post that it was stemmed from racially motivated feelings towards the President. However, after a couple of hours, Brunson made a new statement that his post has nothing to do with the color of the skin of the President. He also added that he may not like the 1st year of ruling of Obama but this has nothing to do with his physical features.

As of the moment, Brunson appears to be laid off the political Tweets for a while. The Full Tilt Red Pro and the 2006 WSOP Player of the Year Jeff Madsen disagreed with the Tweets of the poker legend.

Steve Gedney sets a new poker Bad Beat Jackpot record at the Caesars Atlantic City. Gedney still finds himself a winner after a monster beat and took the record for the largest Bad Beat payout of $553,958.

It was an unforgettable day for all the loyal players and to their dedicated poker team at Caesars when Gedney threw all their attention when his spades in quad paid off. He drew all the attention in the poker room as Joe Domencio, senior vice president and general manager of Caesars Atlantic city claimed.

Everyone felt rewarding being present at the poker room for it was an incredible energy building inside the room and seeing the record setting jackpot being culminated is an unbeatable feeling. For over 30 years as the leader in table games action in Atlantic City, it seems that this record of Bad Beat Jackpot will stay at Caesars only.

The prize paid at the Bad Beat Progressive Jackpot at Caesars Atlantic City is done when four-of-a-kind is shown down and the player loses to another player who has a stronger hand held. The losing hand receives the largest share when the jackpot is won for the prize is split among all players at the table of the bad beat.

Breakdown of payouts are as follows: 50 % to the losing player, 25% to the winning player and the remaining seven players will divide the 25% percent left equally.

Daniel Christopher Alaei was named the grand prize winner of the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Poker classic that ended this week. He had outdone the other 328 players who are on the field and take home an astounding $1.4 million in bag money.

He’s known specialty is the cash games in the NLHE wherein he amass a whopping $3.7 million dollars all through out his poker career. He owned 2 WSOP bracelets to be proud of and also had been successful in winning the $10,000 World Championship Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-better tournament. He has a record of cashing in 18 events in the WSOP which gain him $1,533,917 take home pay.

On the first day of the WPT event that had a $15,000 buy-in he joined the side tables, leaving the first set of plays behind. “I signed up to play and some guys were starting up a big cash game,” Alaei thought. “So, I played in that over the tournament for the rest of the day.”

The time comes for the final table to be set and Alaei was group with the most daunting opponents of the field and that includes: includes Josh Arieh, Faraz “The-Toilet” Jaka, Shawn Buchanan, Scotty Nguyen, and Stephen “MrTimCaum” O’Dwyer.

Holder of five WSOP bracelets, Scotty Nguyen tried to play at his best but just ended up in the fifth place and not the title. He took home $249,976. Then he was commended by his colleagues and he thankfully replied:

“Everybody is a good player these days. You’ve got to respect that. All these young kids these days, they come in to play and they have nothing to fear. They have nothing to lose, only gain.”

The hardest part of the game for Alaei was when he was head to head with 2 time WSOP winner Josh Arieh. They played a good deal of cards before the final hand that decided it all appeared. Arieh holds 7 pockets and the flop is 10-2-5. He placed all his money on the pot post-flop. Then Alaei made a call with a 10, 8 card. Alaei won with the hand and Arieh went home $952,290 richer.

“It was not an easy call for me,” Alaei stated. “If he had a 10, I was pretty much dead.”

Alaei got the pot of $1.4 million and wins the WPT title. He was questioned about how he feels for his win. He stated that he wanted to win for a long while now and it feels great. All his friends already gained the title and he’s the only one who’s not.
