PokerStars held its first ever UK event and Joeri Zandvliet won first place in the tournament in Manchester. Aside from the money Zandvliet took home, the 21 year old poker player also will be able to play in the season finale European Poker Tour in London.
Joeri Zandvliet is from Netherlands. Specifically, Zandvliet is a native of Utrecht. At his young age, he already achieved his first big live tournament win. Standing third in chips in the final table with nine more players in the game, Zandvliet was declared the winner after 8 hours of play.
In the 8 hours of final play, it only took 7 minutes for Zandvliet to experience victory over Jack Ellwood. Zandvliet felt happy at the same time lucky for the victory he obtained. He also commented on the structure and program of the tournament. It was well organized according to him.
UKIPT (UK and Ireland Poker Tour) host Nick Wealthall was greatly overwhelmed with the result of the first tournament event in Manchester. It was shocking to know that it was the first tournament event in the area however; there were enormous players who played. Aside from the increase number of players, the tournament also had a high standard final table game. The host also had the chance to discover potential players who will create a big name in the game of poker in the near future.
Former United legend Teddy Sheringham was one of the players who played in the competition in Manchester; together with him was Vicky Coren a Team PokerStars pro.
